A short note on what we verify before a score goes up
Every scoreboard card on the live desk carries the time of last verification and the source. If we can’t verify a number within ninety seconds of the change, we don’t update until we can.
The live desk treats accuracy as the primary product and speed as the secondary one. Our reporters carry accreditation where possible; where they can’t, they cross-check with the official broadcaster feed and the league’s published match centre.

How to use the live desk
How often is the live desk updated?
The live desk updates within ninety seconds of a verifiable change. Scoreboard cards carry the last-update timestamp so you can see how fresh the figure is.
Can I get push notifications for specific matches?
Yes — the alerts desk supports per-match subscriptions for goal, wicket, red card and innings break events.
Where do the verified scores come from?
Primary source: official league feeds. Secondary: accredited broadcaster scorecards. We disclose the source on every scoreboard card.
The seven-field check
Every scoreboard card on the live desk is checked against seven fields before it goes up. If any one fails, the card does not publish.
- Competition name and stage
- Kick-off time and current match time (where applicable)
- Both team names and the verified score
- Venue
- Source of the verified figure (official league feed, accredited broadcaster, or our reporter)
- Last-update timestamp in IST
- Match report link (where filed)
Three rules that govern the live coverage
Accuracy first, speed second. A correct figure within ninety seconds is worth more than an incorrect figure within ten seconds.
Source every score. Every scoreboard card carries the source of the verified figure. We do not publish figures whose source we cannot name.
Update the timestamp. Every change of state on a card updates the timestamp. Readers see how fresh the figure is.

The editorial standards we work to
Every page on comesportsnow sits on the same five editorial principles: sourced claims, named by-lines, visible timestamps, dated corrections and disclosed conflicts. The five principles are not aspirational; they are the gate every page passes through before it goes live.
Sourced claims
Every claim that can be checked against a named source is checked. If we cannot source a claim, we do not publish it.
Named by-lines
Every by-line belongs to the reporter who filed the copy. We do not run anonymous syndication or AI-only by-lines.
Visible timestamps
Every article shows when it was filed and when it was last verified. Updates carry their own timestamps.
Dated corrections
Corrections are published within 24 hours of confirmation and recorded on the corrections log.
Disclosed conflicts
Reporters disclose any personal connection to a team, competition or story. The disclosure appears at the bottom of the article when it applies.
Coverage built for readers who follow for the love of the game
Most of our readers follow the game because they care about the shape of the side, the form of the player, the captaincy call that swung a match. They do not place a wager, and they do not need a betting angle to justify their interest.
Our coverage is built for them. The desk treats live scores as the starting point, not the headline. The desk publishes the supporting and counter evidence alongside every prediction. The desk does not run odds widgets, does not take bookmaker partnerships and does not run a paid tipster subscription.
If you follow sport for the love of the game, our coverage is built for you.

One short email when a match turns

Where the live desk draws the line
The live desk does not cover MMA, esports, horse racing, or any sport outside the five-sport scope. The desk does not run odds widgets or betting lines. The desk does not publish speculative or unverified figures.
If you follow a sport outside our scope, our newsroom coverage is not the right resource. We list national support services on the responsible coverage page for readers who may need them.
