How many alerts will I receive?
Up to three per match you follow: kick-off, in-game change of state, and full-time. If a match has no in-game change that meets our threshold, you get only two alerts.
Can I pick specific competitions?
Yes. The signup flow asks for the sports and competitions you follow. You can edit the list from any alert email.
Do you share the email list?
No. We do not share, sell or rent the email list. The list is used only to send the alerts you subscribed to.
The four-stage filter
Every change of state on the live desk passes through a four-stage filter before it becomes an alert. The filter is what keeps the alert inbox quiet.
Verified figure
The change of state must be sourced from the official league feed or our accredited reporter. Rumours and broadcaster speculation do not trigger alerts.
Material to the match
The change must be material to the match outcome. A routine single in the eighth over of a fifty-over game does not trigger an alert; a wicket in the eighteenth over does.
New information for the reader
The change must add information the reader doesn’t already have. A score change after a wicket is news; a score change after a wide is not.
Time-sensitive
The change must be time-sensitive. If the change has already been reflected in the live card for more than two minutes, the alert is suppressed.
